How To Be Successful In Shooting Television Advertisement?

It’s difficult to envision, that there is a person that does not know what a commercial is. We see them each day, almost everywhere: while enjoying TV, searching the web or strolling down the street; commercials are throughout us. Some of them are excellent, others, not so much. But there is a saying in the organisation: “There is no such point as a bad commercial”. In my viewpoint, this is definitely true.

When you will make an industrial, it is extremely crucial to recognize specifically what the customer– the person or corporation that buys the business– wants. As a result of this, initial meetings must be conducted. Also, you ought to get acquainted with the product you will market and also discover every little thing concerning it: what is it, what does it do, who are your clients attempting to offer it to. Most people we worked with, pertain to us with preparing concepts, which we just need to become an ended up advertisement.

Worldwide points are a bit different, though. Normally, clients that choose you, will consider you an expert and allow you to produce and create a suggestion for promoting their product. They will just offer you some standards, informing you what their objectives are.

What do we perform in those situations? We listen very carefully to what our customer needs to claim and discuss, as well as on the 2nd conference, we provide to them a principle of exactly how the commercial will certainly look when it is completed.

Before you sit down as well as start thinking about what the story ought to resemble, spend some time as well as watch as several commercials as you can.

If you think you will create something distinct and also never seen before, hesitate. I’m not stating you ought to simply copy/paste some other advertisement you saw previously. What I do is, after I have some idea about the plot, I start executing information as well as techniques I saw earlier in various commercials. By doing this, you boost your suggestion with excellent and tested touches from the video clip sector.

When I complete that, I begin thinking of the scenes and also structures that will certainly best fit in my storyboard. A number of months ago, we fired a commercial for a chain of restaurants, which was supposed to look like a movie trailer (the advertisement was to be transmitted in cinema cocktail lounges). We recorded the business, edited it and also the outcome was more than pleasing. So far so great.

However, when I revealed it to the customer, he didn’t like the music. On top of that, he wanted to change some scenes and to add engravings throughout the entire point. I was almost desperate however in some way handled to compose myself and also encouraged him to prepare a screening in the cinema.

We went together to some movie and also watched our commercial before the movie started. When the client got out of the cinema cocktail lounge, he resembled a happy youngster that was simply offered gelato. And also not just any gelato, however a huge, succulent and also expensive gelato! He apologized as well as thanked me for the great.

What’s the factor of telling you this whole story, you might ask? I guess my point right here is that you should always hold on to your great as well as imaginative concepts and also fight for them. Nevertheless, we are the experts in the video clip industry. Our clients are good professionals as well however in some other areas of competence.

Let’s return to the process of recording the commercial itself. After you have clarified the suggestions and the plot and also developed a storyboard, you obtain the team together and you start preparing every little thing you will need for the recording of the commercial: locations, stars (if any kind of), scenography, outfits, and so on … Consider all the small things you may require and also do not neglect the large ones! Preparation is the most fundamental part of everything. Does not matter if it’s a short film, a music video, a promo business video or a commercial.

If you are well prepared before the capturing begins, your success is practically guaranteed. I claim almost because recording the scenes themselves is not completion of it. Post-production (modifying, audio style, and so on.) is likewise really crucial and could get really complicated in some cases, but as a whole, if you have excellent shots and also well-recorded sound, you must be just fine.

Television can be expensive. You’re most likely to spend a huge chunk of your budget from purchasing time to making the area, so you require a big idea that will certainly get individuals checking out your service or product– and also better yet, talking about it.

You have a fantastic concept. Now you have to manuscript it out. You do not have to be a marketing wizard, but it helps to enjoy commercials that are similar to the concept you’ve developed. You’ll get a feeling for tone, pacing, and instructions. You have a really restricted period to record your target market, so you need to get your message throughout promptly. Do not get wrapped up in lengthy sentences. Keep them brief as well as punchy.

Your audio needs to tell customers what you’re promoting even when they remain in one more area and also can’t see the TELEVISION. As well as keep in mind to time out your area. You’ll purchase commercials in portions of time, from 30 secs to 2 minutes. Your manuscript needs to fit. Read it out loud a number of times. Act it out, then cut where you require to cut.

Some spectacular, distinctive, effective commercials contain no individuals in any way, however, people relate to other people. Putting your target demographic right into your commercial instead of a 30-second shot of your structure’s outside can assist pull in your preferred target market.

Prevent having individuals wave at the camera or standing there grinning since you don’t want your commercial to look hokey. Always look to professional stars initially. If you use close friends or relatives, see to it they can pull off the vision you have.

Meticulously plan every shot. Your furnishings store may offer 10 different kinds of recliner chairs, 8 living room sets, and also six-room sets, and you may intend to include them all, however, you’re most likely to have to tighten those shots down.

You simply can not get them all right into a 30-second or perhaps a one-minute commercial, at the very least not without blinking numerous different items of video clip that you daze your prospective clients. Wide shots of your display room are excellent if you wish to show a great deal at the same time, and also you can zero in on a few products that you wish to be featured alone.

As alluring as it could be to attempt to squeak in an extra couple of secs, it simply won’t function. Your industrial must time out to the specific duration you have actually spent for. Looking at will only obtain your all-too-important phone call to action clipped from completion due to the fact that those last couple of seconds are the ones that will be removed when your business airs.

Pepsi, as well as Nike, are two instances of business that can pour millions into branding advertisements. These spots present a product and services to the public without requesting any type of sale. You don’t yet have the money or sources to simply produce a pure branding area. You require contact us to action.

Your call to activity obtains clients to purchase or act now. Use the end of your industrial to inform consumers to see you today. Offer your total call info, including your web site address, contact number, as well as a street address. Offer a fast line concerning how to find you if essential.

The positioning of your commercial is also very vital. It determines who will certainly see it as well as just how much you’ll spend for the airtime.

Having your industrial air at 3 am. will save you money, however, it’s not money well invested if you’re not reaching any individual. The very same is true for the station you’re airing your advertisement on. You don’t wish to schedule air time on ESPN with your regional cable company if you’re promoting your maternal garments shop.

Tv is much less requiring on regularity than radio, yet it still should have greater than a one-shot deal. Identify the crucial times your ad must run, after that buy enough airtime for your commercial to reach your target market at the very least twice during those times. Even more, times would certainly be suitable.

As well as keep in mind to create assistance materials for your ads: An internet site or landing page or a sales brochure should prepare to visit capture the consumers you’ve involved.

It is really vital to establish expectations. Never ever consent to a job or offer a quote prior to recognizing roughly (you ‘d never ever recognize precisely what gets on the customer’s mind) what type of photos they are searching for. Ask the client for photos that closely approximate what is required, so you can a) know what they are trying to find, as well as b) know if you are capable of delivering that common and high quality.

Disputes occur when both client, as well as photographer, assume they are speaking about the very same thing prior to the shoot, only to discover later on that they have really various ideas in mind. Set the stage right by utilizing recommendation visuals as well as discussing the requirements of the job carefully, and ensure all these agreements are in black-and-white to secure the interest of both celebrations.

In order for you to have a successful picture shoot, you need to recognize your client as well as what they’re getting out of the shoot. As an example, you might be dealing with a new entrepreneur who owns a pastry shop and wants you to take pictures of their cakes and cookies. You would not after that take photos of the real pastry shop when the customer especially desires photos of the foods that they make. You will certainly make sure to have returning customers when you comply with all guidelines and also capture the images that they want.

It is necessary to recognize exactly how the customer means to utilize the photos for 2 factors: prices and execution. The cost you price quote might vary according to the use of the picture, so you might bill a lot more if the images are going to be used on a countrywide advertisement than a local store poster, despite the fact that the pictures may coincide. This is recognized in the industry as license/usage rights.

Secondly, knowing how the photo is going to be made use of helps you intend better. As an example, if the picture is going to look like a wall surface mural advertisement, you might need to review with the customer if a medium-format electronic back is needed for the highest possible resolution. Or if the picture is going to be utilized as a cover or poster, you need to shoot in portrait format as well as leave area for the title and also promotion message.

Constantly clear up with the customer on the usage of the picture prior to the shoot, talk about any kind of technological and design requirements, as well as validate the deliverables (format of the data, resolution etc).

You clearly intended to make money for the kind of work that you’re doing, so you need to be knowledgeable about the specifics in the contract that you will certainly be signing to take the shoot. It might likewise not be a negative concept for you to write your really own contract and to give it to the company or person you’re working with. Develop your very own contract and also business ideals to ensure that you feel great doing the shoot and also earning money for your job.

If you’re dealing with individuals on the collection, it could be vital for you to communicate with them on set so that they have the ability to communicate the presents and looks that you’re wanting to attain. It may also help for you to have a camera near to you so that the subject in the picture shoot can see themselves. Even if you’re not collaborating with genuine individuals, you need to still be interacting with others around you to aid with item relocating and also detailing.

Always quote reasonably, which implies considering all your costs, time and effort. If you require referrals for a practical quote, contact any kind of expert photographer you understand, or give a shout out to your digital photography area. Even if you have a day task doesn’t mean that you ought to price quote an unbelievably low price to protect the shoot.

Never bill a low rate since you do not need the money or you don’t believe you suffice. If your customer employs you due to the fact that you are experienced enough to supply the outcomes, bill the prices you should have.

Take into account the time for conversation, study, prep work, shoot and also post-production. You will be shocked at how much time a task takes in addition to the real shoot day. As well as indeed, obtain an authorized job order or quote before you begin shooting!

While it’s always annoying to have a picture shoot terminated by your customer last minute, you need to be flexible adequate to recognize that these problems might happen. An individual in the picture shoot might get ill or the individual who needs to exist to assist with the shoot isn’t readily available.

Being flexible is a guaranteed method of obtaining return clients due to the fact that they will appreciate collaborating with you and the versatility that you provide. How to Capture the Best Landscape Photos

5 Tips to Capture the Best Landscape Photos

What is Landscape Photography?

Landscape Photography is a popular type of photography that many professional and amateur photographers are drawn to. And, it’s no wonder why as it allows you to be surrounded by nature and it locks you into beauty and drama that you would wish you can capture just as perfectly as your seeing it.

This type of photography captures an image that fully embodies the outdoors. It should be a photo that would make your viewers feel, reminisce, or hope they could see where you are. Think of it as an invitation to “be there” with you and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Now, taking photos of landscapes may seem simple if you just think about how you’ll be around natural beauty while outdoors. But, the truth is, having a really great photo requires more than just taking out your camera and shooting. And, that’s why we’ve come up with this list of tips to help you improve on your landscape photography and help you avoid bland images that don’t give justice to what you’re seeing.

How to Capture the Best Landscape Photos?

5 Tips to Capture the Best Landscape Photos min 300x200 - 5 Tips to Capture the Best Landscape Photos

  1. Shoot During the Magic Hour

The magic hour, also called the golden hour, is the period of time after sunrise or just before sunset. Photographers love shooting during these hours as the sun creates a beautiful and scattered light. See, when the sun is low, your surroundings will have a warm glow that translates well on photos. You might event capture long shadows which can add depth to your images. So, be sure to go out on these times and take as many photos as you can before the sun goes too high up in the sky or before it goes down.

However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t shoot during other times of the day. Certainly, you can also take landscape photographs in the middle of the day or during the night time. You just have to consider the light source and camera settings.

  1. Take a Chance

The reason why landscape photos often impress people is because of how it is taken and the lengths a photographer had to take to show another view or angle of a specific location. Imagine how beautiful a photo is when shot on top of a mountain or on a dry and vast dessert. Think of the wild animals around the forest you want to capture or the weather and temperature you have to endure.

See, to take the perfect shot, sometimes you need to take a chance. You have to put in a huge amount of time and effort to get the view that most people can’t see for themselves. To have the best landscape photos, never rely on easy and accessible viewpoints – because everyone else can go there. Unique, but safe, spots can guarantee you the most amazing scenes you are looking for.

  1. Create Depth in Your Photos

In terms of landscape photography, it is wise if you can create a sense of depth in your photos. And, you can do this by keeping all the elements in focus. So, make sure to use a small aperture to keep your subjects in the foreground and background sharp.

To give you an idea, shoot at an f-stop number that is two or three stops higher than the lowest number. Choose an aperture somewhere from f/16 to f/22. However, a mid-range aperture such as f/8 works well too. Just avoid using apertures that are too far toward the end of the spectrum as they can reduce the clarity of your photos.

  1. Choose a Low ISO5 Tips to Capture the Best Landscape Photos3 min 300x200 - 5 Tips to Capture the Best Landscape Photos

To have the best image quality, set your ISO as low as you can. Doing so will keep your photos from getting grainy. Usually, an ISO between 100 to 400 works well for landscape photography. However, if you need to raise this number to use a certain aperture or shutter speed, you can do so just not as much.

  1. Bring a Tripod

If you are planning to use slow shutter speed, either because you want to capture the movement of the clouds or the river, make sure that you have a handy tripod to hold your camera. This way, you can avoid blurred images which are caused by shaking hands.

Landscape Photography Requires Patience

While you may be at the most beautiful place in the world and standing at the perfect spot, there are certain elements that can ruin your shot. And, this is why landscape photography requires utmost patience. Nature is beyond man’s control and there’s nothing you can do to speed or slow things down.

There will come a time when the white cloudy sky can’t clear fast enough to let the sun breakthrough. You can’t demand the rain to stop or ask for the sun to stay on the horizon much longer. So, make sure that you have enough time at the location of your choice where you are able to wait to take that perfect shot.

Also, planning ahead can help you tremendously. Always check weather forecasts and allow yourself to have enough time to get to your “perfect location” safely and in plenty of time.

The Most Important Wedding Photography Styles You Need to Know About

What is Wedding Photography Style?

A wedding photography style is a type of artistic inspiration you use as a guide for the weddings you will shoot. However, this is not a strict standard or rule. So, you’re not required to follow each one. But, do note that many wedding photographers do follow them especially since every style can blend with other styles.

Hence, if you’re interested in getting into wedding photography, it is important that you check out the different wedding photography styles. Not only will understanding wedding photography styles give you a chance to develop your talent and skills but they will also help you find your own style.

Most Important Wedding Photography Styles to Know About

  1. Traditional

This is the most common photography style. And, you see this very often in wedding photo albums. Photos under such style are posed and classic. For instance, group shots of the couple with their families and the entourage. In addition, such shots also include the couple cutting their cake or having their toast, and their first kiss as husband and wife.

The traditional style is practiced for many years now. And, if you notice, it’s still very popular today. This is because it’s still one of the best ways to achieve the most important shots your future clients are looking for. It’s an effective way to capture the “key shots” of a couple’s big day and timeless photos they share with their family and friends.

Mastering this type of style requires you to get involved. You need to learn how to guide and direct your clients, teaching them how to do their poses. Thus, it is important that as a photographer, you are able to gain experience and be comfortable being in charge.

  1. Documentary

Here’s another popular wedding photography that many tend to master. So, rather than posed shots, this style required you to capture candid moments or spontaneous photos of people, decorations, and happenings. Thus, you can get more interactions with everyone and you can create better pictures that truly capture the emotions and feelings in a moment.

When following a documentary photography style, you can take a more informal approach to tell a story. However, it does require a lot of creativity as a photographer. On top of that, you should be able to quickly aim, adjust your camera’s settings, framings, and shoot instantly. This is because moments happen in just seconds and they only last for a second.

Usually, the results in this type of style are real and the images have this natural feeling that will just force the emotions right out of you and the viewer.

  1. Artistic

Remember that not all portraits require a couple in full-frame and looking at your camera. And, here’s where artistic photography can help you with. In this style, you can actually create unique and artistic moments using composition, lighting, and background. This results in very special and candid shots that the couple will love looking back on for years to come.

Here, you will ask the couple to pose “candidly” in an often picture-perfect environment. So, it’s like putting together the traditional and documentary style. However, this particular style does require skill in landscape photography and knowledge in using wide-angle lenses. But, more importantly, you will have to learn how to help your couple relax as you need to direct them as well.

  1. Black and White

This type of wedding photography style is a great way of creating classic images that will stand the test of time. While black and white photographs are not appealing to some people, it can actually result in more compelling photos. Because monochrome images allow your subject to shine more.

Black and white photography is an ideal technique that you should master if you’re hoping to get into wedding photography. Not only does it look classic and timeless, but it also allows you to have beautiful images even under difficult lighting conditions.

Here, you should be able to perfectly capture shots of cakes, flowers, decors, centerpieces, and other wedding details.

Being a commercial photographer, you should be able to develop a sense of style that can be more formulaic and less spontaneous compared to a documentary photographer. And, most importantly, you should have the skills and equipment that can produce magazine-quality images.

Pro Tips for Sports and Action Photography

What is Action and Sports Photography?

Pro Tips for Sports and Action Photography1 300x200 - Pro Tips for Sports and Action Photography

Basically, action and sports photography refer to the genre of photography covering all types of sports. It is action-packed and involves plenty of movements, making it one of the hardest (if not the hardest) photos to capture. But, it is extremely rewarding.

Since sports photography involves high-speed subjects, you will have little time to think. So, you don’t have room for making mistakes. And, if your career is heading for this direction or you have simply grown to love covering the action of a thrilling sports event, then it’s important that you have the right technique to make sure you won’t have blurred results.

And, that’s why we’re here: to provide you easy to remember and follow tips that you can use to enhance your action and sports photography.

What You Will Need

Pro Tips for Sports and Action Photography 300x200 - Pro Tips for Sports and Action Photography

Before we start giving you pointers, it’s important that you have the right gears. For one, you need a digital SLR camera (or any camera) which you can set your own shutter speed. Without this, we guarantee you won’t capture any good sports images. Secondly, make sure you have lenses with a zoom range of at least 200mm. Anything greater than this is certainly much better because it allows you to capture images closer without zooming in. So, you don’t need to isolate your subjects.

Other than the right gear, you also need permission especially when you are shooting children’s sports. Once you’ve got that covered, then you’re ready to shoot!

Pro Tips for Your Sports and Action Photography

Whether you are covering basketball, tennis, volleyball, football, rugby, soccer, boxing, or karate, taekwondo, and everything in between, here are professional tips to have better images:

  • Use Fast Shutter Speed

When photographing high-speed subjects and high-action scenarios, it is important that your shutter speed is fast enough to capture even a person sprinting down a hill. And, to make sure you are able to freeze a moment, set your shutter speed at least 1/500. If you go below this, you might see signs of motion blur.

  • Choose Aperture Priority Mode

Usually, the typical DSLR modes are Manual, Automatic, Shutter Priority, Program Automatic, and Aperture Priority. Make sure you set your camera to Aperture Priority before starting to shoot. This will allow you to determine your shutter speed. Most professional photographers use this mode for sports photography as it is the best on a bright day. So, choose a small number like f/2.8 to f/4. By doing so, you can ensure that you are having the most possible light and in turn a fast shutter speed, resulting in the perfect exposure.

  • Choose Shutter Priority if Aperture Priority is Not Available

So, since not everyone reading this has their own DSLR, we’ve come up with an alternative. Most cameras like point-and-shoot cameras only allow its users to set a shutter speed. As mentioned earlier, you will need a 1/500 shutter speed and your camera will decide what aperture to use. Just remember to take test shots to make sure you are getting enough light to enter.

  • Use ISO to Your Advantage

By now, you have a shutter speed that is no slower than 1/500 and an aperture around f/2.8. Now, it gets tricky because these two settings may result in a very dark image. This is where you use ISO to your advantage. And, to do so, simply double your ISO number and your image will be brighter. When you control ISO for your shooting process, your exposure is not only limited to your shutter speed and aperture. With is, you can also increase your photographic possibilities – because now, you can shoot anywhere and at any time of the day.

  • Use Burst Mode

For you to be able to keep up with the high-speed action happening on the field or court, set your camera to take multiple images. This is referred to as “Burst”. This increases your chances of getting that great shot you’ve always wanted!

  • Get the Best Position

The best position to put yourself in is with the sun behind your back. This guarantees that your subject has a lot of light.

  • Shoot from a Low Angle

To achieve that dramatic image, try shooting an image with your knees. By doing so, you can also capture a clear background instead of other athletes and the grass. This lower perspective also provides your photos with depth.

Know Your Sport

Also, the best thing you can do is know the sport you are covering. By knowing the sport, you can anticipate the action and follow it with your camera. You can take the best shots possible as you already know what’s about to happen and you can zoom in and capture your subject effortlessly.

Basic Photography Techniques

Basic Photography Techniques to Get the Perfect Shot

Nowadays, with the growth of technology and the continuous development of cameras, it’s no wonder why many people have grown to love photography. Unlike much older types of arts, taking photos does not require years of training to produce an “okay” result. In fact, anyone can take a picture and aim, click and shoot. However, the results will always be the same and that’s just what they are – okay – unremarkable.

Now, if you want to become a photographer and to have that special, breathtaking and beautiful photos that you wish for, then you will need to master photographic techniques beyond that of simply aiming and shooting.

Start From the Basics

To guarantee you the results you want, we’ve come up with the most basic photography techniques that you can start trying out. These techniques and being able to master them will stand as your foundation towards your passion for photography as well as your journey of becoming a photographer. You can also use them to build your skills, perspective, and own style.

The photography techniques we’ve listed below are just some of the most basic techniques that produce quality photographs. However, you will need time and a lot of photos taken before you can perfect each skill. Once you get used to them, you will surely start applying them every time you take a picture – without you noticing!

Composition Techniques for the Perfect Shot

  • Framing

Here’s a type of composition technique where you use or add frame elements to put the emphasis of your viewer’s eyes towards your subject. This allows you to add depth and interest to an image. And, you can use anything from rock formations, windows, tunnels, or any object or item that can help bring focus to your subject. It can have any form or shape as long as it creates an aesthetically pleasing photo.

Contrary to popular belief, frames need not cover every side of your image. Using only one or two sides is also effective.

  • Patterns, Lines, and Shapes

Lines, patterns, and shapes are all very important elements that our eyes are naturally drawn to. Patterns offer a visually rhythmic sight, making them extremely eye-catching and interesting. And, if you look for shapes and colors that are balanced evenly, well-defined, and repetitive, you can change the way a person sees your photo. You can also use lines to naturally lead your viewer’s eyes and bring the focus to your desired subject.

To give you an idea, hallways, buildings, roads, and bridges have lines that become narrow at the end, making them perfect for showing linear perspective. You can use the windows at your home, multiple doors, and other architectural structures.

  • Contrasting Elements

Here’s an easy technique where you can use contrasting elements to make your subject stand out. You can choose physical elements such as rocks and trees, the sky and the foliage, or ice and fire. You may also use contrasting colors, shadows, lights, and even motion blur.

  • Symmetrical Balance

When we speak of symmetrical in photography, we mean balance. So,  there must be the same elements of equal weight on both sides of an image. This is a widely popular technique with highly appreciated results. And, this is because people unconsciously look for symmetry in everything. Images with this technique create a pleasing and soothing sensation to one’s eyes and mind.

  • Asymmetrical Balance

On the other hand, there’s the asymmetrical balance. So, it means having a visually imbalanced image. Now, that may not sound as pleasing but trust us, asymmetrical photos are actually very interesting to look at. Photos with this kind of technique often result in an unsettling and intriguing feeling. Instead of mirror images on both sides of your picture, the elements of your subject will have different shapes, tones, placement, weight, and size.

To help give you an idea, you can include two contrasting subjects and, following the Rule of Thirds, place them off center. These can be two different items or two same objects but differ in color or size. You can achieve balance by equaling these elements even with their differences. Now, this is harder to pull off than symmetrical balance but, as with every technique, it gets better with practice and application.

Guidelines Not Rules

While we recommend using these techniques every time you take a picture, we don’t consider them as rules to strictly follow. These are only guidelines that you can use to make the overall composition of your photos better and more pleasing to the eyes.

Also, while it is indeed important to understand and execute each of the basic techniques we’ve listed, we also believe in listening to your instincts and creativity!
