Ondrea Barbe
Biography
Originally from Northern California, Ondrea left for France in 1991. Over the next seven years she honed her love of black and white photography and developed a fine art career, which culminated in a one man show called The Soul at Le Grand Cafe des Arts (a fine art museum) in Nice.
In 1998 Ondrea came to New York to continue working on her fine art and soon joined Soho Photo gallery. Ondrea wanted to capture that feeling of genuine underlying confidence and warmth she feels every woman excudes at one moment or another. Their raw energy is what drove her closer to her subjects and is expressed in a series of tight portraits. From there she branched out into the world of beauty. Her images help brands to reflect that fresh, genuine moment that is seen and felt from a woman's perspective. Not leaving out the feminine sensuality that is rarely shown from a woman's point of view. Her focus is on the details, a small gesture or perhaps an expression in the eyes that imparts a feeling while showing something spontaneous at the same time.
