Ludovic Belmonte

Biography

Born and raised in Paris, Ludovic Belmonte wanted to be a photographer for as long as he can remember. He began his studies at 12 under the tutelage of his art teacher. There he went into the darkroom and began to develop a sense for light and composition. After high school he entered the prestigious Parisian institute Ecole Louis Lumiere and furthered his passion for light in the studio. At the end of his studies he worked as an assistant in the Elle magazine studio. This gave him the opportunity to work with some of the best fashion photographers of the 1990's. While very attracted to fashion Ludovic realized he like to control the composition entirely. Naturally his career oriented toward still life, shooting luxury and fashion accessories. "I like taking my time to compose a picture born in my mind. Shooting in studio gives me the ability to control everything, light, composition, framing, color. No place for chance." In 2008 after shooting in Paris for some of the most prestigious clients Belmonte decided to move to New York where he is currently based.
