BIOGRAPHY:
› print biographyWhen Car Magazine, one of the U.K.’s foremost motoring monthlies, wanted to redesign its look they commissioned Tim Kent to do his first studio car shoot in Munich, Germany. Initially, with no car photography experience and very little still life experience Tim was not keen on the idea. Eventually he agreed to it and the trip was a surprising success. Car Magazine gave him regular monthly assignments to shoot their covers. Other magazines across the UK and Europe took notice and before long he was shooting cars for GQ, Arena, Conde Nast Traveler, Tatler and Vanity Fair to name just a few.
Tim’s success as a car shooter was initially due to his unconventional approach, something other car photographers had not attempted. Tim did away with the rules, capturing cars with a refreshing, carefree, uninhibited style that relaunched the genre of car photography as sexy, stylish and aggressive. He continues to break new ground. His campaign for Hummer H2, is guaranteed to make you wonder, “How’d he do that?!”
