Born in the USA, Scott McDermott moved to Switzerland at an early age and spent most of his childhood skiing in the Swiss Alps. When the reality of not making the world cup ski circuit set in, it was time to head back to the US for college. But first, Scott took a year off to travel. And following a brisk walk through the Himalayas in Nepal to clear his thoughts, it was off to Ithaca College with nothing but photography on his mind.

After several years of assisting a wide variety of photographers in New York City, Scott made it on his own in sports photography. Although initially more focused on action and event coverage, his work eventually shifted towards athletes and to people in general- especially those in Hollywood. Still based in New York City, Scott brings his distinctive style to a wide variety of editorial and advertising clients in both the sports and entertainment worlds.
